'Under the Dome' trivia and fun facts

In the novel, a news helicopter crashes into the dome. That helicopter has the CBS logo on it (current home to the series).

Joe is "addicted to the graphic novels of Brian K. Vaughn" in the novel. Brian K. Vaughn became the creator and writer of the TV series.

Producers consider the dome itself to be the main antagonist of the series.

Within the course of the series Dean Norris assumes a role as an officer of the law in Chester's Mill. Norris previously played as a member of law enforcement in a small role in 'Lethal Weapon 2' as Detective Dick Cavanaugh. He also played a SWAT officer in 'Terminator 2' and a DEA agent in 'Breaking Bad'.

The series is based on Stephen King's novel 'Under the Dome'. In his afterword, King says he first started the novel with 75 pages in 1976, then set it aside until 2007-2009.
