John Kassir, voice of the Crypt keeper, often had to swallow lemon juice and honey to sooth his throat after doing his lines.

Charles Fleischer, who voiced Roger Rabbit in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' (1988), was in the running of providing the voice of the Cryptkeeper.

The show was originally only planned for three seasons, but it proved so popular it lasted seven. Unfortunately, the creator William M. Gaines only lived to see season three.

It took six puppeteers to operate the Crypt keeper during his scenes, four puppeteers alone just for his facial expressions.
