'Queer as Folk' trivia and fun facts
Because taxes, the series was filmed almost entirely in Toronto, Ontario (Canada).
Initially, the series was scheduled to take six seasons, the contracts of the actors were set for six. However at the end of the first season, it was decided to modify only five.
'Queer as Folk' is a pun in English language. It comes from a dialectal expression of some areas of northern England. The phrase is: "There's naught so queer as folk", meaning "nothing is as strange as people". In addition, "queer" is English is a synonym for "gay" or "fagot".
