'American Crime Story' trivia and fun facts

Marks John Travolta's return to series TV after his breakthrough role in Welcome Back, Kotter (1975).

Sarah Paulson was rumored for the role of Nicole Brown Simpson, the murder victim and ex wife of O.J Simpson. Ultimately she was cast as Marcia Clark, the prosecutor who was part of the case.

Sarah Paulson was so dedicated to staying in character of Marcia Clark that she actually wore the same perfume as Marcia did.

During her appearance on The View, real-life Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark disclosed that, though she found the experience of watching the series in general quite painful in reflection, she was truly honored to see how well Sarah Paulson portrayed her. She was also very complimentary of producer Ryan Murphy for underscoring the extent of the sexism that she'd experienced throughout the trial.

At one point, Sarah Paulson was filming The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and her role as Sally McKenna on American Horror Story: Hotel in the same day. She would rehearse one's lines in the other's costume.
