Saga Spider-Man
Filmmaker Sam Raimi made the first adaptation of the Marvel hero to the big screen, with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst as protagonists.
The film, focusing on the transformation of the nerd Peter Parker in the hero Spider-Man, and his confrontation with the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), was a box office hit, grossing more than 800 million worldwide.
The second film happend just two years later, when Spidey came back with a film centered in the confrontation between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina). 'Spider-Man 2' earned slightly less than its predecessor, but managed to take a really good bite from the box office ensuring the return of the superhero for a third installment.
'Spider-Man 3' is closer to the original as far as numbers are concerned thanks to the conflict that Peter faces when he's affected by a strange black substance. Despite that Raimi decided to end his journey with Spider-Man. Five years later Marc Webb recovered the character in a new adaptation entitled 'The Amazing Spider-Man' in which the nerd style of the Maguire's Peter Parker was replaced by Andrew Garfield's ungainly style.
This time Emma Stone gave life to Gwen Stacy, the other love of Spidey, who in this film faced the Lizard, a villain played by Rhys Ifans.
The film grossed more than 700 million securing the return of Garfield on a successful sequel 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Power of Electro' which featured Jamie Foxx as the opponent of the arachnid superhero.
