Saga Saw
'Saw' is a series of horror movies based on hardcore scenes of physical pain. It began in 2004 with a film directed by James Wan. It had a budget of a million dollars and ended earning more than one hundred million dollars worldwide, becoming one of the most acclaimed horror movies of that time. It was the first film of a seven film franchise. The most successful one was 'Saw III', which earned 164,9 million dollars worldwide. The least successful was 'Saw VI' with 68,2 million dollars worldwide. James Wan only directed the first installment of the franchise, passing the torch to Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed 'Saw II', 'Saw III' and 'Saw IV'. None of the films in the franchise earned good reviews, but it became an audience favourite. It was the audience who made the 'Saw' franchise a cult saga. 'Saw VI' had a particularly tough opening. In some countries, like Spain, it earned the same age certificate of porn movies, and it only got to open in the few X cinemas that still survived in 2009.
