Saga Insidious

The horror series 'Insidious' was created by Jason Blum, producer of the box office successes 'Paranormal Activity' or 'Sinister'. Blum maintained the idea of using very small budgets with this franchise, and it went to be again a very profitable formula. 'Insidious' came to cinemas in 2011. It was directed by James Wan and had Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Barbara Hershey as stars. It grossed 97 million dollars with a budget of 1,5 million dollars. 'Insidious Chapter 2' came in 2011 and was the most successful movie in the franchise with 161,9 million dollars worldwide. 'Insidious Chapter 3' exceeded the first installment's grossing with 109,5 million dollars worldwide. The two first movies were focused on a couple who had their son possessed by ghosts. The third one didn't have James Wan as director, and Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne didn't come back to star in it. Leigh Whannell directed this third movie that was a prequel of the main story. There are no plans currently for a fourth movie.
