Saga Ghostbusters
The 'Ghostbusters' saga was created in the 80's when Dan Aykroyd alongside his 'Saturday Night Live' cast mate and friend John Belushi, had the idea of a new supernatural project that they both would have starred in. After Belushi's death, Akroyd with Harold Ramis wrote the script of the first 'Ghostbusters' film that Ivan Reitman directed in 1984.
This new film, which was a combination of a comedy and science fiction kind of film, was even nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Original Song. The film was a complete success, both critical and commercial so they decided to make a new film, 'Ghostbusters II' released four years later with the same old cast that included Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson.
30 years since the release of the first film, it was announced by Sony the development of a new 'Ghostbusters' film with a female cast with actresses such as Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Melissa McCarthy. This new 'Ghostbusters' directed by Paul Feig will be released on July 15, 2016.
