Saga Friday the 13th
In 1980 premiered 'Friday the 13th' the first movie in a long-running saga of horror films that was directed by Sean S. Cunningham and starring Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King and Kevin Bacon among others. The actor Ari Lehman was the first to play the masked series murderer Jason Voorhees that's being reigning in the terrifying slasher subgenre for more than three decades.
Warrington Gillette, Richard Brooker and Ted White among others also interpreted this psychopath who had the chance to continue his macabre mission for seven films more that didn't miss their annual appointment with the horror fans.
In addition to the films collected under the title 'Friday the 13th', the protagonist had two more films under his name. 'Jason X' directed by James Isaac, who arrived in 2001 with the intention of revitalizing the series, and 'Freddy vs. Jason' directed by Ronny Yu in which Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, two mythical murderers, teamed up.
In 2009 came 'Friday the 13th' the reboot, a film starring Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker and Amanda Righetti and directed by Marcus Nispel that, despite raising more than 90 million worldwide, failed to give a new beginning to the saga.
