Saga Avatar
Avatar is the name of the future cinematographic saga created, written, produced and directed by 'Titanic's director James Cameron.
The development of the main story began in 1994 and it was even planned to be released in 1999. According to James Cameron, it was impossible for him to film 'Avatar' back in the day because the necessary technology to recreate his vision wasn't available at that moment. The official budget for this project was close to 300 million dollars and another 150 million were destined to promote the film. 'Avatar' is the highest grossing movie of all time, it has been the first movie to gross over 2 billion dollars worldwide. This movie also made extensive new use of motion capture filming techniques and the critics recognized the great work behind the creation of the visual effects for this movie.
In 2013, James Cameron signed to create three more sequels with 20th Century Fox and they're being filmed simultaneously. The first sequel 'Avatar 2' is planned to be released in 2017.
