Whilst Hugh Jackman's latest film hasn't received as many award nominations as the cast might have liked (1 nomination - Oscars Best Score), that doesn't mean the production isn't doing well at the box-office. Considering that 'The Greatest Showman' is grouped in the same category as films like 'La La Land' and the latest adaptation of 'Les Misérables', it really is a big feat that the P.T Barnum biopic could soon surpass them as highest grossing musical in the US.

According to figures taken from Box Office Mojo, 'The Greatest Showman' has earned more than $315 million in total, $147,814,138 came from the US alone. Tom Hooper's 'Les Misérables' earned over $148 million in the US, and $441.8 million worldwide. 'La La Land', which starred Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, gained $151.1 million in the states with a grand total of $446 million. In the case that 'The Greatest Showman' does manage to beat both films, it would only have to earn more than $170.6 million earned by 'Chicago' to become the highest grossing musical.
In the UK
The film in question has so far earned up to $21.1 million in the UK, which is pretty impressive given the tough competition that 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' and 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' could've been.
