'The Crown' fans will already know all about Peter Morgan's decision to recast the characters for the next season of the Netflix show. Seasons 3 and 4 remain unconfirmed, but here's what we know so far:
'The Crown', which began back in 2016, has told the story of a young Queen Elizabeth II, who up until now, has been played by Claire Foy. As the characters grow older however, creator Morgan feels it's only authentic that the actors do so too. "You can't ask someone to act middle-aged. Someone has to bring their own fatigue to it. The feelings we all have as 50-year-olds are different than the feelings we all have as 30-year-olds", he mentioned.
Olivia Colman will be taking over the role as Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy, whilst Helena Bonham Carter will play her sister, Princess Margaret, who was previously played by Vanessa Kirkby.
What about Prince Phillip?
Up until now, 'Doctor Who' star, Matt Smith, has been portraying Prince Phillip. According to one journalist, Paul Bettany ('Avengers: Infinity War') is in talks about taking over the role.
Netflix still haven't confirmed the return of 'The Crown' for a third or fourth season, so we'll bring you more news as it comes.
