'The Big Bang Theory' has become one of the most loved TV shows ever since its premiere back in 2007. One of the show's most well-known characters is Sheldon Cooper; In fact, he's that renowned that CBS saw it fit to launch a spin-off based around Cooper's childhood.
Whilst in 'The Big Bang Theory', we get to see a grown up Sheldon alongside friends, Leonard, Howard and Raj, in 'Young Sheldon' we play witness to the character growing up and his relationship with his family. In the former programme, throughout the 10 years that the show's been airing, we've seen Cooper transform significantly: he's no longer the antisocial scientist we were once introduced to. Currently, Cooper is about to marry fiancée Amy Farrah Fowler, and, as expected, his whole family will be present for the wedding, and we now know who'll be portraying Sheldon's brother.
Whilst Georgie Cooper is pretty well-known to 'Young Sheldon' fans, the character is yet to make an appearance on 'The Big Bang Theory'. With Sheldon's impending nuptials however, it appears the time has come for us audiences to see a grown up Georgie. Jerry O'Connell, known for his roles in 'Burning Love', 'Crossing Jordan' and 'The Defenders' will be taking on the role.
The executive producers for the show announced the news via their panel at Paleyfest just last week (21st March). Georgie won't be the only family member making an appearance, for Sheldon's mother (Laurie Metcalf) will also be present at the wedding.
With regard to Sheldon and Amy's impending marriage, the producers spoke about potential stag and hen-do's for the couple and Kaley Cuocotexto enlace revealed "they don't go the way you think they would go".
Ian Armitage and Jim Parsons
Actor, Jim Parsons attended Paleyfest alongside Cuoco and revealed what he thought of Iain Armitage's (the younger Sheldon) audition: "We saw his audition on tape, and I don't know how to put this other than to say it was kind of jaw-dropping".
Apparently, the audition lines were pretty difficult but Armitage read them well. Parsons reaction to the audition was pretty similar to how creator, Chuck Lorre, felt when he first saw the former actor: "He walked out of the room, and I didn't believe what we had just seen".
