The Millennium Falcon blasts off. The official website for 'Star Wars' has revealed the first image of the spin-off starring Han Solo. Still untitled, filming began officially this February 20 at Pinewood's landmark London studios.

The image shows the main cast of the tape along with the directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, piloting the smuggler's traditional spaceship.

'The Crew'

The Star Wars website recalls that the project is still without official title, but gives a brief synopsis: the film will explore the adventures of the duo composed by Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) before the events seen in 'A New Hope'. Among them, we will see the first encounters between the pair and Lando Calrissian, who gives life to the actor of 'Community' and creator and protagonist of 'Atlanta', Donald Glover.

Accompanying in the image are Woody Harrelson and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emilia Clarke, whom are joining Thandie Newton to complete a very interesting cast. What do you think of Ehrenreich as Han Solo?

A lot of emotion

"Seeing people around the world so inspired, with such unique voices, unite with the sole purpose of making art, is nothing less than a miracle," said the directors of 'The LEGO Movie' and '22 Jump Street'. "We can not think of anything fun to say, because we are very excited and we feel very lucky."

The planned release date is May 25, 2018, a few months after episode VIII, 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. The script is written by veteran Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. Everything stays in family.

'Catastrophe'

1 Fear of a Catastrophe

George Lucas thought that his creation would be a failure, and he showed a private showing of the film to small audiences of his friends. In the case of Brian de Palma, he described it as the worst film he had seen. So Lucas, instead of attending the premiere, went on vacation to Hawaii with Steven Spielberg. And during their stay, thought up the idea of 'Indiana Jones'.

'Aftermath'

2 When the aftermath was not Global Domination

The 'Star Wars' scene in which Darth Vader, piloting a TIE fighter, is out of control in space, with the villain, therefore, still alive, was later included, for Lucas's insistence, as other components of the team considered leaving the option of a sequel open (and then were not well regarded as a profitable commercial option).

'Two Phrases'

3 The director only knew two phrases

The actors blamed to George Lucas that he wasn't very communicative. He only said: "Faster" or "More intense". When during some days it was without voice, he just used a slate with the two phrases.

'Cult Hero'

4 The Hero that looked like he could lead a cult

Already had begun the filming when Lucas decided to change the last name of Luke, of the original Starkiller by Skywalker. He feared that "Star killer" acquired connotations that are associated with Charles Manson (famous for the murder of actress Sharon Tate and four friends on August 9, 1969). J.J. Abrams pays homage to the name 'The Force Awakens': the main base is called 'Starkiller base'.

'Costumes'

5 The Phantom Menace of costumes (Or the lack of)

The producers wanted Chewbacca not to be naked, but to wear some costume, such as shorts. Peter Cushing suffered with the boots he had to wear. That is why he did not use them in the scenes where you couldn't see his full body. Carrie Fisher's breasts were covered with masking tape so that they were not transparent, since the wardrobe did not allow wearing lingerie. As she said ironically: "As we all know, there is no underwear in outer space." Her repeated complaints about her costumes in the first two works of the saga, with which she said, "did not look like a woman," paid off. Hence, her meager costume as Boba Fett's slave at the beginning of 'Return of the Jedi'. Of course difficult to handle or control. Before each shot was rolled, someone in the wardrobe had to be aware that the breasts would fit tightly inside so little cloth. But many scenes had to be rolled again because the rebellious breasts did not stop defying the empire of scarce cloth.

'Different Actor'

6 A disturbance in the force

Before choosing Alec Guinness to play Obi Wan Kenobi, the possibility was considered that the Japanese actor Toshirô Mifune, protagonist of 'The Hidden Fortress', and that the princess Leia also had oriental features. Luke, and his uncles, had also been considered to be short.

'Director'

7 Possible directors

Paul Verhoeven was considered to shoot 'The Empire Strikes Back', after filming 'Soldier of Orange'. He held a meeting, in which he showed his film 'Vivir a tupe', but he did not know any more. David Lynch (as we told you) and David Cronenberg were tipped to shoot 'Return of the Jedi', but both declined the offer.

'C-3PO Inspiration'

8 The inspiration for C-3PO

The basis for R2-D2 is based upon the Assistant robots of 'Silent Running' (1972), Douglas Trumbull. And the C-3PO, the Maria in 'Metropolis' (1926), Fritz Lang, the first robot in the history of cinema. And became the version robotics 'Laurel and Hardy' (Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel).

'Sound of the Force'

9 The sound of the force

The sound of the Lightsabers were achieved by tapping with a hammer retention radio wire antenna tower. In 'The Phantom Menace' (1999), during the fights with the laser swords, Ewan McGregor accompanied each movement with the corresponding hum, like child that emulates the combat and puts the sound effect that is missing. It was warned during the assembly process and deleted. Meanwhile, Jake Lloyd, the children's actor who played the role of Anakin, stated that he decided not to continue with the interpretation in more films because of the trauma that caused the behavior of other children who did not stop imitating the sound of the laser swords each time. What was aggravation turned into torture, by the fact that the film did not satisfy the expectations of the fans.

'Force Limits

10 The Force has limits

In 'The Empire Strikes Back' (1980), Mark Hamill has suffered 16 facial fractures against the roof of Yoda's hut before director Irvin Kershner was satisfied. In 'Star Wars' during the sequence of the garbage disposal, he held his breath so hard under the water that a facial vein burst. In the next scene they filmed, they had to frame his face so it wasn't able to be seen.

'Shoe and potato'

11 In a galaxy far, far away, a shoe and a potato became asteroids

It is rumored that an asteroid was a shoe. Apparently, because of Lucas's insistence that the asteroids were redoing, one of the special effects designers threw one of his shoes between the asteroids. It is said that it was corrected in a later remastering. What is certain is that an asteroid is a potato. It appears when the Millennium Falcon enters the asteroid field: it is the third that appears on the left.

'Magic Box'

12 The magic box

Carrie Fisher had to climb into a box on many of the scenes shared with Harrison Ford, given the notorious difference in stature (1'81m versus 1'51m).

'Double Casting'

13 Double casting

George Lucas made the casting at the same time as Brian De Palma's 'Carrie' (1976). William Katt, who also auditioned for the role of Luke Skywalker, ended up getting the role of the boy dreamed by the protagonist of Stephen King's adaptation.

'Cameo'

14 A cameo of a director

Sofia Coppola performs a cameo as Padme's maiden in 'The Phantom Menace'.

'Smile'

15 A smiling smile

During the filming in London, Carrie Fisher rented a flat belonging to Eric Idle, who along with the other components of Monty Phyton, was filming 'Life of Brian'. At a party organized by Idle, attended by the actress, Harrison Ford and members of the Rolling Stones, among others, drank a potent liquor Idle called "Cleaner of Tunisian tables." The next day they filmed the scene of the arrival in the City of clouds. The aftermath of ingested alcohol explains Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford's laughing expression in that scene.
