There's been a lot of news circulating recently with regard to reboots of classic 90s TV series like 'Charmed' or 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch'. The latter program was so cherished that news of its reboot brought smiles all around as well as questions over who'd be playing our favourite characters in the new version.

It's been known for some time now that Kiernan Shipka is due to takeover the role of Sabrina, whilst Jaz Sinclair will play her best friend. Miranda Otto is set to play Zelda, and Lucy Davis, Hilda. One of the biggest mysteries, since the reboot was announced, has been who'll play Harvey Kinkle. Until now, that is, for Netflix have set their eye on Ross Lynch.

 Ross Lynch

According to Variety, Lynch is set to play one of the most cherished characters on the show, Harvey Kinkle Sabrina's human boyfriend. Kinkle is the attractive son of a minor who's quite the day-dreamer, given he remains oblivious to the dark forces trying to keep him away from Sabrina.

Many will recognise Lynch from his role as a serial killer in 'My Friend Dahmer', or from Disney Channel's 'Austin & Ally'.

A much anticipated reboot

The Netflix remake also entitled 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch' is set to be a 'Riverdale' spin-off with hour long episodes. The storyline will be a lot darker with scarier storylines revolving around magic, occult and spells. We'll also get to see how Sabrina tries to find a balance between her lives as a mortal and a witch all whilst tackling the dark forces that threaten not only her and her family, but the world within which she lives.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is both the screenplay writer and producer of the series. He's joined by Lee Toland Krieger who, as well as directing a few episodes, is the executive producer. 'Riverdale' producers, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater will be joining them.
