Comparte:

Quentin Tarantino's iconic violence and catalogue of deaths have touched the 90s, the Second World War, and even the cotton plantations of the Civil War, but there's one place the director is yet to set foot: outer space. Can you imagine 'The Hateful Eight' doing the Vulcan salute or 'Jackie Brown' talking Klingon? It's hard to picture, we know, but apparently the 'Pulp Fiction' director is seriously considering venturing out there for a new 'Star Trek' film.

According to Deadline, Tarantino has already shared his idea with the saga's current producer, J.J Abrams and plans to put together a group of scriptwriters in order to help him develop the film. If all goes well, it is assumed that both Tarantino and Abrams will be in the directing seat, but we remain clueless as to what the former has in store for the Romulans and the Vulcans.

 Quentin Tarantino

Used to directing original films or those within a particular universe, this will be the first time Tarantino dabbles with a pre-existing franchise, with the exception of a few episodes of 'CSI' and 'ER'. The director has also always expressed an interest in working on a 'James Bond' film. With regard to the latter saga, there is often very little creative freedom awarded to directors working on such iconic franchises. Therefore, it's highly unlikely that we'll see Paramount allow Tarantino to work on saga as mellow as 'Star Trek'. Just take a look at some of his other works like, 'Kill Bill' or 'Django Unchained', and you'll understand why.

Tarantino's not bored

Whilst Paramount decide whether there's room for him aboard the USS Enterprise, Tarantino has reached an agreement with Sony who'll distribute his latest film. The director's latest project is set in 1969 and revolves around the murder of Sharon Tate and her friends at the hands of the Manson family. Rumors dictate that Margot Robbie could play Tate, and that she may be joined by Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio or Brad Pitt. The film is set for release on 9th August 2019.
