The eponymous 'Predator' remake is coming our way under the direction of Shane Black, who also worked on 'Iron Man 3' a few years back. The upcoming film will showcase the monster in ways we've never seen before and we can't wait. Take a look at the first trailer for the film below.
The remake comes eight years after 'Predators' and in this film, the predator is back but this time with genetic modifications. If you thought the original 'Predator' was deadly, you've a stronger, faster, more intelligent version coming for you. While in the original film, the Predator crash landed on Earth, in the remake, we've young Rory (Jacob Tremblay) to thank for its arrival.
Taking up the challenge to fight for the survival of the human race will be a team of assassins alongside a science professor. The cast is made up of Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Jane, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski and Edward James Olmos. 'Predator' is set for release on 14th September.
The saga
John McTiernan's original 'Predator' kicked off the saga. The film was released back in 1987 and saw Arnold Schwarzenegger lead a team of mercenaries to fight back against the alien.
The following films in the saga could never live up to the success of the first. In 1990 came 'Predator 2' with a change of cast and director.
In 2004 came the 'Alien vs. Predator' crossover that managed to rake in ticket sales but couldn't convince critics. 2010's 'Predators', a third sequel to the original storyline, saw Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Laurence Fishburne and Oscar award winner Mahershala Ali go up against the same monster.
Will the remake manage to do justice to the original film? We'll have to wait and see, but for now, we'll revel in the trailer.
