After the premiere this Friday of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge', which has been a moderate success at the box office, three members of the cast of the first three installments of the saga, have told The Hollywood Reporter a series of anecdotes of their experience as pirates.

Jack Davenport, who played Commodore James Norrington, Lee Arenberg and David Bailie, the silent pirate Cotton, have revealed some very curious facts about the shooting of the film. Davenport said that the team increased considerably after the success of the first film, and that he remembered that the caterer told him that 2 million dollars of the budget went only on the food.

'Pirates'

"I remember telling him one day, "What's the budget for all this?" He looked me in the eye and said "Essentially unlimited." I was like "What does that mean?", to which he replied, "No, I know, about 2 million dollars." I was amazed. "For snacks?" And he answered so normally, "Yes." It may sound frivolous, but it was not. He obviously has to keep people fed, but the point is that only the appetizers took all that money."

It seems crazy, but it serves to give us an idea of ??the dimensions that a production of Disney has. Davenport went on to say: "There was an epic speech by producer Eric McLeod at the end of the third film." We finished filming. The catering has prepared 170,000 meals. We bought 700 mobile phones, and 240 have fallen into the water. There was enough rope in this film to travel the Earth five times. "These data resonate in one when you understand the magnitude of the project you are in. Most people do not get an opportunity like that in the film industry."

'More PIRATES'

From pirate school to the set

A film of the magnitude of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' takes care of all the details, that's why the actors had to learn how they used the cannons, and the handling of a sword. To do this, they hired Bob Anderson, the swordsman who also taught in 'Star Wars', and even played the great Darth Vader in the fight scenes.

They also tell that performing the fight scenes, especially with the sunset, isn't easy. Davenport said, "I almost fainted straight away, I think I was the one who had the most layers of clothes, Orlando, of course, did not sweat too much, I just glittered, we all had to fight at some point."
