TMZ have reported that 'Glee' actor Mark Salling has passed away. Whilst not much about the actor's death is known as of yet, the first signs point to suicide.
The actor is thought to have hung himself near his California home, where his body was found. Just last October, Salling was found guilty of being in the possession of child pornography and was due to be sentenced in March of this year for between 4 to 7 years. Back in August, the actor was also thought to have attempted suicide when it was revealed he tried to cut his veins.
Salling, who played Noah Puckerman or 'Puck' on 'Glee' was arrested in December 2015 after more than 50,000 images of child pornography were found on his computer. 4000 further incriminating files were found on a USB drive. On top of those charges, Salling's ex-girlfriend sued him for sexual assault, and the actor was ordered to pay out $2.7 million. Salling could have faced up to 20 years in jail for the child pornography images alone, but pleaded guilty in order to reduce that sentence.
'Glee's' dark legacy
Salling is the second 'Glee' actor to commit suicide in recent years. Co-star, Cory Monteith (Finn in the series) passed away in July 2013 at 31 years of age, after having over-dosed in his hotel room. In the Fox TV series, Finn and Puck were the best of friends.
