Marcia Cross, the well-known actress from 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Melrose Place' has revealed via a post on her official Instagram account that she had been struggling against cancer. Across several posts, she announced that after "almost eight months" of treatment, she is now well.
With her characteristic sense of humor, she expressed her sadness at the loss of her hair: "So grateful and happy to be alive but sad that my hair fell out and is about one inch long now".
In the same caption, the actress asked if anyone else had struggled with hairless after cancer and, if so, they would tell her about it in the comments. The post reached over 46,000 likes and more than 3,500 comments, many of them from women responding to Cross' question and sharing their own experiences.
The actress stated that it has been a "hard journey" but assures fans that she is now "healthy, happy and ever more present".
Messages of support
After making her struggle against cancer public, there have been serious messages of support from other actresses. Among then 'Gossip Girl's Kelly Rutherford commented "I love you", while Haylie Duff wrote "still beautiful", and Lori Loughlin declared that she was "impressive as always".
Cross' response to all the comments was full of emotion and happiness: "Thank you for all of your love, you made me cry".
