We're already eagerly anticipating the sequel to 'Mamma Mia!', but it appears as though, singer, actress, and mega-diva Cher has trumped our excitement for the upcoming film with a series of tweets. Cher will be joining Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried, who portrayed main characters, Donna and Sophie Sheridan, respectively in the first film. The 'Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!' will tell the story of Donna in her youth. Lily James has been cast to play young Donna. We don't know much about the sequel yet, so we can only go by what little info Cher has posted on Twitter.
A clearly ecstatic Cher hasn't stopped dropping hints about the upcoming film that will see Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarksfård and Colin Firth all return to reprise their respective roles. The singer posted a photo of a pair of iconic 80s style platform boots that must form part of the costume for a song featured in the film. It's most likely that Cher will sing the well-known ABBA hit 'Fernando', a song we didn't get to hear in the first film. The song was released in the early 1980s.
Tweeting a simple 'FERNANDO' alongside an emoji, Cher hinted that the song will feature in the sequel film. The singer also tweeted a line taken from Fernando. Cher's participation in this musical marks her return to the big screen, following her work on 'Burlesque' with Christina Aguilera seven years ago!

Mamma Mia! Here we go again!
As well as welcoming back the cast from the first film, we'll also be introduced to more well established talents in the sequel such as, Andy Garcia. There are also a handful of less known actors joining the cast including, Alexa Davies, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Jeremy Irvine, Josh Dylan and Hugh Skinner. The cast will get the chance to really immerse themselves in ABBA's music according to composer, Benny Andersson. The ABBA band member has since confirmed we'll hear songs such as 'Angel Eyes', 'I Wonder' and 'When I Kissed the Teacher', all published between 1976 and 1979, alongside newer versions of the hits we heard in the first film.
