Live action films are all the rage these days and it's no surprise with the successes that were 'Alice in Wonderland', 'Cinderella' and 'Beauty and the Beast'. If you're a fan, then you'll be excited to hear that Disney have released a filming schedule for its latest production, 'Maleficent 2' which is due to begin in Spring of this year.
The filming schedule very much depended on Angelina Jolie's availability, for the actress was due to play Frankenstein's bride in 'Bride of Frankenstein' a film which was due to join Universal's Dark Universe (which already comprises of 'The Mummy'). That project however, seems to have been suspended for now, good news for Disney, who were able to snap up the 'Maleficent' protagonist for a sequel.
Joachim Rønning is set to direct the upcoming film, the director is already known for his work on 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'. 'Maleficent 2' is due to begin filming this April in London, and it is suspected filming will go on until August.
A Classic
Robert Stromberg, who also won an oscar in Best Achievement in Art Direction for on 'Alice in Wonderland' in 2010, directed the 2014 film 'Maleficent'. Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley and Imelda Staunton, are just a few of the individuals who made up the latter films cast.
For know, we're not sure who else will be joining Jolie in the sequel, but you can bet we'll be sat waiting patiently for any news.
