The Golden Globes after party has barely even finished, but there is no rest for the red carpet as the nominations for the 72nd British Academy Film and Television Awards (BAFTAs) have just been announced. As is only to be expected with such a title, 'The Favourite' seems to be taking the lead, while 'A Star is Born' also takes a starring spot on the list of nominations.
'The Favourite', the dark new comedy set in the royal court of 18th Century England, has already been crowned with one Golden Globe for Olivia Colman's performance, as well as receiving four other nominations; however, with a total of twelve nominations across the board, the film is racing ahead of all of the other big names. 'Bohemian Rhapsody' came away with seven nominations, including Rami Malek for Best Actor, and Outstanding British Film, while 'A Star is Born' also received seven nominations including Best Film, Best Director, and Lady Gaga or Best Actress.
The ceremony will take place in its usual location in the Royal Albert Hall, in London, on 10th February, and Joanna Lumley ('Finding Your Feet') will again be hosting.
