One thing everyone knows about 'The Walking Dead' is that it will never stop surprising us with plot twists and sudden deaths. Whilst it's a given that people die in a zombie apocalypse, it's not the first time, nor will it be the last, that one of these deaths shocks us.
Actress, Laurie Holden who played Andrea for three seasons of TWD spoke with fans at Walker Stalker Con where she revealed, "I think the departure from book Andrea to the screen was a mistake... I think the whole stuff that they wrote about Andrea and the Governor was complete and utter nonsense."
In the comics, from which the series is taken, Andrea survives a lot longer, and remains with Rick's group of survivors. Her romance with the Governor was also cooked up for the screen.
Despite all of that, Holden assured fans that she did her best to stay true to her character in her scenes. The actress also took the chance to thank showrunner, Scott Gimple for giving Andrea, "a gorgeous death".
Laurie Holden had an eight year contract
Upon joining the show, Holden signed a contract for eight years, which makes sense given that her character is still very much alive in the comics. You can catch the eighth season of 'The Walking Dead' on 23rd October on FOX.
