Who's ready to return to the world of magic? Because we know we are. The first trailer for the upcoming film 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' dropped just yesterday (13th March) featuring protagonist, Newt Scamander as he prepares to face Gellert Grindelwald once more.

The first film ended when Grindelwald was arrested by the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) with the help of Scamander. The sequel will focus on Grindelwald's escape.

'Fantastic Beasts 2' is set for UK release on 16th November and will feature the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

Key scenes from the trailer

There's only 8 months to go before the film's release and so, without further ado, let's dive into the key scenes we picked up from the trailer.

1

Following the end of the 'Harry Potter' saga, many of us believed we wouldn't live to see Hogwarts again, but the new trailer seems to have proven us wrong. Given that 'Fantastic Beasts' takes place in the same universe as HP, it looks as though we'll be paying a visit to Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry a lot sooner than we expected.

2

We already knew that each of the 'Fantastic Beasts' films would be taking place in a different city. Now, with thanks to the trailer, and a few promotional images, we know that city will be Paris.

3

One of the scenes reminds us very much of the opening scene in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', and in it we can see a Deluminator at work. The object was created by a young Dumbledore, who'll make an appearance in the upcoming film.

4

Along with 'Avengers: Infinity War', 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and it will see protagonist, Newt join forces with Jude Law's Dumbledore.

5

Ever since it was announced, we'd been waiting patiently to catch the smallest glimpse of Jude Law in character. Given that the actor will be playing a younger version of the powerful wizard. He looks a little more relaxed than his older self but keeping as many secrets.

6

From the trailer, it looks as though Tina, Queenie, Jacob and Pickett will all be returning in the sequel. Despite not having seen much of them yet, we're sure they'll play just as important roles as in the first film.

7

Given the name of the saga, it just wouldn't be right if we weren't introduced to yet even more 'Fantastic Beasts'. Whilst they won't take up as much of Newt's time as in the first film, J.K. Rowling has made sure to remind us that the magical world isn't just made up of witches and wizards.

8

It appears as though what little we saw of the Obscurus in the first film was just a taste of what's to come. Ezra Miller's Credence Barebone will be returning, but he'll be bringing Claudia Kim's Maledictus with him.

9

From London in 'Harry Potter' to New York in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', and now onto Paris. A new city means a new Ministry of Magic and that means never before seen settings. We already know each country has its own laws and traditions, we wonder what Paris has in store for us.

10

We all know and remember Helena Bonham Carter's terrible Bellatrix Lestrange, and whilst we won't be seeing her in 'The Crimes of Grindelwald', we will brush shoulders with a family member: her great-grandmother. It's been hinted that Leta Lestrange will have a run-in with our protagonist, though we'll have to wait and see how it plays out!

11

We presume everyone remembers the underwater scenes from 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire', if not, you're in luck because we may be presented with a few more of those in 'The Crimes of Grindelwald'. Whilst it's not clear which character will feature in the underwater scenes, there will be an aquatic beast.

One of the scenes in the trailer shows a wall with a lot of markings on. Though we can't make out what all of them say, one of them is pretty clear: Corvus Lestrange. Could the room be a hide-out for someone?

13

The new trailer also features a scene at the circus. It's an event we've not been privy to before. Will Muggles be invited, or will it be a strictly magician only event?

We've always known Gellert Grindelwald would be back. All one need do is give the title good consideration, but we never expected to find him looking as washed up as he appears in the trailer.

15

The trailer also features a scene with the Scamander brothers: Newt and Theseus (Callum Turner). The two are scene fighting side by side, but we're not too sure what they're up against.
