As the year slowly dwindles to a close, Google has released its search data for 2017. The search engine split its results into categories, namely different people, tv programmes, and films, and each category consists of the top 10 searches. Notable individuals who topped the list for people include Meghan Markle and Harvey Weinstein.
Our searches are clearly dictated by popular culture, so it comes as no real surprise that four of the individuals named on the most searched list have been accused of sexual abuse. The individuals include, aforementioned Harvey Weinstein, and Matt Lauer, both of whom have been accused and are being investigated for their advances on an endless list of women. Kevin Spacey also made the list.
Under the category for actors however, Kevin Spacey almost topped the list, losing out to Suits actress Meghan Markle, who also appears on the list for most searched people. Another actress present on both lists is Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot. Other notable individuals on the list for most searched actors include Bill Skarsgard who appeared in the film adaptation of Stephen King's 'It', and 'Stranger Things' actress, Millie Bobby Brown.
Film & TV
With regard to popular culture, the most searched films correlate with the most searched actors. For example, 'It' topped the list for films, closely followed by 'Beauty and the Beast'. Aside from 'Wonder Woman', 'Justice League', another of Gal Gadot's films made the list. It really has been her year!
The list for most searched TV shows was a bit less obvious however, with '13 Reasons Why' taking the top spot, followed by HBO's 'Game of Thrones'. Notable titles, 'Riverdale', 'The Good Doctor' and 'Big Little Lies' also featured.
