During the last episode of 'Saturday Night Live' Kanye West gave a controversial speech in support of Donald Trump while sporting the infamous cap branded with the President's slogan "Make America Great Again". Furthermore, but the rapper claimed that he had been bullied backstage for wearing the hat, saying that nobody could make him remove it as it was like his "superman cape". He also photo on his Instagram account, in which he was wearing the hat, and in the caption stated that it "represents good". He also declared that he wanted to abolish the 13th Amendment, a law which permits modern day slavery as a form of punishment in prison.
An hour after posting this image to Instagram, he then tried to clarify his message in two tweets:
the 13th Amendment is slavery in disguise meaning it never ended We are the solution that heals

We apply everyone's opinions to our platform
There was no delay in the outpour of responses via social media and among those was 'Avengers' actor, Chris Evans. He responded to Kanye's tweet, in which he had shared the same image and message as on Instagram, with rage: "The level of unapologetic conjecture I've encountered lately isn't just frustrating, it's retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying."
There's nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn't know history, doesn't read books, and frames their myopia as virtue. The level of unapologetic conjecture I've encountered lately isn't just frustrating, it's retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying. https://t.co/4jCFwB4T5U

Evans was not the only known face to have spoken out against the rapper. The singer, Lana del Rey, responded to West's Instagram post with the message: "Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture."
Master of Controversy
This is not the first time that Kanye West has got caught up in social media controversy surrounding his support for Donald Trump. As we already know, West famously referred to Trump as his "brother" on Twitter and added that they both have "dragon energy". Despite not agreeing with everything that the President does, he made it clear that the so called "mob" would not be able to turn him against the leader. The President replied to the tweet, thanking the singer for his support.
