One of Netflix's biggest successes and one of the shows we just couldn't get enough of last year is returning for a much anticipated second season. If the first season of '13 Reasons Why' is anything to go by, then we're certain season 2 is set to be a hit.
Season 1 of '13 Reasons Why' told the backstory to the suicide of secondary school student, Hannah Baker. So touching was the plot, that it stole our hearts and launched actress, Katherine Langford's career. Now, around a year after its premiere on Netflix, the streaming platform have announced the show's to return on 18th May for its second season.
The new episodes will focus, once again, on Langford and the boyfriend she left behind (Dylan Minnette). This season is set to focus more on how Hannah's suicide has affected the people around her, such as her parents (Kate Walsh & Brian d'Arcy James), who are determined not to let Liberty High cover up the incident.
The second season has been produced, once again, by none other than the talented singer-actress, Selena Gomez. '13 Reasons Why' has proven to be a hit with younger audiences, who are no doubt taken with her unique way of approaching some of the problems plaguing youth today, so it makes sense for Gomez to return for this season.
The fight against suicide
A recent promotional video for '13 Reasons Why' saw the cast speak out about their determination to help prevent teen suicide. The first season of the show was met with criticism for supposedly romanticising Hannah Baker's death.
