Plot
In Paris, 'Young Solitude' films teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 in a high school on the outskirts of the city while they talk, during, after or in between classes. Whether it is in the classrooms itself, in the high school's hallways or in a bench outside the building with the view of the iconic and enormous Paris in front of them, at their very feet, these young people talk about their relationship with their family, their fears, hopes and passions. At an age when lots of them are thinking about the moment they'll have to leave their families, or perhaps at an age in which some don't even have one, the reflections on solitude and the nature of people show a new side of teenagers.
'Young Solitude' creates a dialogue between these young people that allows them to reflect on their own lives in a new way, talking and discussing between them about their lives and actions in an open way and without any kind of prejudice. And among all of this topics there is the good and the bad, the personal and the common, that shines a new light to watch the next young generation thanks to this group of teenagers with very different economic, social and familiar backgrounds to each of them.
The documentary film is written and directed by Claire Simon.
