First Marvel movie

This is the first Marvel movie for Jessica Chastain. Previously she had rejected the roles of Maya Hansen in 'Iron Man 3' and Hope Van Dyne in 'Ant-Man'.

No more Wolverine

This is going to be the first X-Men movie that will not include Wolverine/Logan or his actor: Hugh Jackman. The main reason is because Jackman retired from this role, in which he invested 17 years straight. Despite this, he made it into 'Deadpool 2' with a short cameo made with recycled footage from 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'.

1992

The movie takes place in 1992. This is also the year in which the X-Men cómics were re-launched with a new visual design and a new cartoon show.

Natural look

Simon Kinber was inspired by X-Men film 'Logan' by making 'Dark Phoenix' look less stylish and more natural.

Always together

'Dark Phoenix' will premiere in the same year as its spin-off 'The New Mutants". Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, who play the Stark sisters in 'Game of Thrones', will participate again in the same saga because Maisie Williams will play Wolfsbane in the spin-off and Sophie Turner will play Dark Phoenix.

Return to evil

Like we've seen in other films as Superman III or Spider-Man 3, this movie follow a super-hero that has fallen to her dark side and turns evil. This is, in fact, the second film in which Jean Grey succumbs to her dark side and turns into Dark Phoenix.

Directorial debut

The film is the directorial debut for screenwriter Simon Kinberg.
