Augustus "Auggie" Pullman (Jacob Tremblay) is a little boy born with a facial deformity. Despite the efforts of his parents to take great care of him, this has conditioned him during his whole life. People look at him when he walks down the street and that has made him become inevitably very self-conscious. But Auggie is a fighter, as he will prove when he starts fifth grade at his new school. There he'll put all his efforts into fitting in with his new classmates and making them understand that he's not a freak, but a completely normal kid. The challenge is not little: proving everyone that beauty is more than skin deep, and that it's what's inside that counts. His parents, played by Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, will be his most important support in an environment that, little by little, will get used to Auggie and end up appreciating him for who he is, beyond physical appearance.
