Women Talking

On February 17, Sarah Polley's latest film 'Women talking' will arrive at the cinemas . The Canadian who rose to fame as an actress in films such as 'Mr. Nobody', 'The Secret Life of Words' or 'Dawn of the Dead' adds three films under her direction with this one.

'Woman talking' tells the story of a group of women who belong to a strange and isolated religious community in 2010. These women will fight to recover the initial spirit of this religion, which has been desecrated, like their faith, by sexual abuse that these women suffered at the hands of the mens from the congregation.

The film is based on the novel by the writer, also Canadian, Miriam Toews. Toews and Polley have worked together on the adaptation of the book. The book, which bears the same name as the film, was published in 2018, five years later the story came to the big screen.

To impersonate this group of religious, Polley will have the actresses: Rooney Mara ('Millennium: The Men Who Didn't Love Women'), Claire Foy ('Fist Man - The First Man'), Judith Lee Ivey ('The Woman in Red'), Sheila McCarthy ('Possessed'), Jessie Buckley ('The Dark Daughter') and the winner of three Oscars Frances McDormand ('Nomaland').

The film is produced by Brad Pitt, Emily Jade Foley and Lucibello Brancatella.
