The Woman Who Ran

After being without directing for a year after the premiere of 'Hotel by the River', acclaiming South Korean filmmaker Hong Sang-soo returns to theaters with 'The Woman Who Ran', with which he won the Silver Bear for best directing at 70th Berlin International Film Festival. Gam-hee has been left alone for a few days. Her husband has gone away on a business trip, leaving her with too much free time. The woman decides to take advantage of this time to meet three friends on the suburbs of Seoul, who remind her that it is the first time in five years that she is left alone without her husband. The first one she visits is Young-soon, who has recently divorced her husband. Young-soo lives with a young woman called Lee Eunmi, who is dedicated to feeding the stray cats that roam the barium and whom she loves as them were her own children. She later meets Su-young, an independent woman who is a successful Pilates instructor and who lives in one of the fashionable Seoul quarters. Later, while walking down the street, Gam-hee meets Woo-jin, an old friend at a movie theater. But, Gam-hee notices that Woo-jin seeks to avoid her. Why does the woman run away?
