Wild, Wild

This documentary filmed in the mountains of Galicia and northern Portugal explores the wildlife of these places, where one must be very attentive to find the traces that lead to discovering the animals that inhabit them. This piece documents the absence of the Iberian wolf and how this affects life in these mountains. Through a relational story based on popular mythology, extermination, and subjugation, this film essay confronts a montage made of images-simulacra of the wild natural.

Its director, Emilio Fonseca Martín, defines this piece as an anti-documentary due to the images of wolves looking directly at the camera in terror and the presence of humans who know how to howl. "All creatures leave traces in this careful dance of tracked trackers."
