What Happened, Miss Simone?

The director Liz Garbus has compiled and edited masterfully over a hundred hours of audio recordings of unpublished and unknown images and autobiographical letters to date on Nina Simone, whichever muse of soul and jazz from the middle of last century. In addition, 'What Happened, Miss Simone?' includes interviews with people who were closest to the artist throughout her life, including her daughter and her husband. Thus, we have the opportunity to learn about aspects of the singer who remained hidden for most of his followers.

Defined by their relatives as an indomitable force of nature, plus an integral artist (it was until the end of her days), Simone is portrayed in this documentary not only as the great pianist and singer who was, but also as a populated interesting person with a personality, charismatic and demons (which Garbus is responsible for bringing to light).
