West Beirut

On April 13, 1975 began the Lebanon's civil war. This day will change forever the lives of our protagonists. Tarek and Omar are two young muslims living in the side West Beirut. During the conflict, they try to follow a normal and quiet life and fall in love with May, a christian girl. The three teens walk through the city in search of adventure, trying that the drama does not affect them. But the development of their lives and of their parents will be marked by a painful and tragic conflict with dramatic consequences for all of them. 'West Beirut' (1998) is the story of a divided country and a society affected by violence in all senses. The film is directed and writted by Ziad Doueiri in 1998.
