Plot
Directed by Bernard Stora, 'The Case' marks the director's return to cinema, which he has been focused on television, it's his first feature film since 'Un dérangement considérable', released in 1999. Luc Germon (Niels Arestrup), a famous lawyer of great repute, is turned upside down when he accepts a new client, Gilles Fontaine (Patrick Bruek), one of the most powerful entrepreneurs in France. He is accused of buying a property under suspicious circumstances and he must rely on Germon's abilities to free him from the case. Gradually, these strange allies will begin to become enemies, as an unexpected rivalry and fight of egos arises. In a case of possible corruption, who has more power? The client, who pays for his defense and is able to hire whoever he wants to do it? Or the lawyer, who knows all the shady issues in the case and can use them to his advantage if he is in danger? A question that hides a much darker issue.
Stora directs and co-writes screenplay for 'The Case', along with Pascale Robert-Diard and Sonia Moyersoen. Along with Arestrup and Bruel, film is starring by Irène Jacob, Paul Hamy, Michel Bouquet, Laurent Stocker, Sophie Verbeeck, Claude Perron, François Vincentelli, Yves Jaques, Eva Darlan, Philippe Girard, Alaa Safi and Edith The Merdy.
