Plot
'Victoria and Abdul' tells an extraordinary story of friendship in the late years of Queen Victoria (Judi Dench). Abdul Karim (Ali Fazal) is a young Indian secretary who travels to Britain to celebrate the Jubilee: the queen's 50 years of sovereignty. To her surprise, Victoria will be interested in him. The Queen begins to question the restrictions of her status as sovereign, and between both, a loyal and improbable alliance arises. But the Queen's circle will try to destroy it. As their friendship grows, it changes the way the Queen looks at the world and begins to recover a humanism that she thought was lost. Directed by Stephen Frears ('The Queen', 'Philomena', 'High Fidelity', 'Dangerous Liaisons').
