Veins of the World

'Veins of the World' is a film written by Byambasuren Davaa, and co-written with Jiska Rickels. The movie is set in a province in the middle of the Mongolian steppe. It is the home of a humble family consisting of Amra, Zaya, Altaa and Erdene. Zaya is the mother of the family and looks after the herd, while Erdene is a mechanic and sells Zaya's cheese at the village market. Their peaceful and routine life is threatened by the arrival of international mining companies, who dig for gold and devastate the natural habitat. Erdene is the leader of the last nomads who oppose this arrival. He unites his comrades and tries to convince them not to accept the offers that the international mining companies have put on the table.

The film's cast includes Bat-Ireedui Batmunkh, Enerel Tumen, Yalalt Namsrai, Algirchamin Baatarsuren, Ariunbyamba Sukhee, Purevdorj Uranchimeg, Alimtsetseg Bolormaa, Unurjargal Jigjidsuren, Batzorig Sukhbaatar, Sarantsetseg Myagmar and Batbaatar Uukhaan.

'Veins of the world' has an approximate running time of 96 minutes and was released in the United Kingdom on 13 april 2022. The film was not released in theatres, only on the internet.

The film will be distributed globally by Global Screen and in Spain by Surtsey Films.
