Vaincre ou mourir

The year is 1973, in the middle of the French Revolution and Charette, a young man retired from the Royal Navy, has returned home. The French countryside is sown by the anger of the peasants and thanks to his decision, Charette is appointed by them as the one in charge of leading the rebellion. After a few months, the young sailor becomes a great strategist who manages to gain the sympathy of peasants, deserters, women, old men and children who help him to form an imposing army that will seek the freedom of their lands and people.

This French film is directed by Vincent Mottez and Paul Mignot and stars Hugo Becker, Tristan Studer, Valentine Piffard, Aude Studer, Jacques Milazzo and Tadrina Hocking, among others. This production of the epic of the King of the Vendée comes from Puy Du Fou films and will be released in Spain by Bosco Films on September 15. 'Vaincre ou mourir' tells the story of François-Athanase Charette, a "bandit" who created the modern guerrilla warfare for the benefit of a cause that went against the tide at the time.

The Vendée war was one of the most lethal and deadly civil battles in the history of France. It began in March 1793, just over three years after the French Revolution. Charette led the fight for freedom; his determination appealed to the people.
