'Unfriended: Dark Web' trivia and fun facts
Different endings
The movie has two different endings in its theatrical version.
A different title
The first title was supposed to be 'Unfriended: Game Night', but it was probably changed to avoid confusions with John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein's 'Game Night'.
In the dark web
The director himself uploaded the trailer in the dark web first.
Tribute to...
The movie plays tribute to the 2013 'The Den', movie in which the main characters face a killer who enjoys tortures, kidnappings and murders online.
A different sequel
One of the first ideas for the sequel starred Laura Barns as antagonist again, this time against a group of college students in a game night for their participation in her humiliation and death.
Vampiric reencounter
Both Colin Woodell and Andrew Lees have been in 'The Originals', the former as Aiden, Josh (Steven Krueger's) boyfriend, and the second as Lucien Castle, the villain of the third season.
The age of the screens
The movie releases almost at the same time as 'Searching' and 'Profile', who are also told through computer screens. The first one is about a father investigating the disappearance of his daughter and the second one about a journalist who infiltrates propaganda web pages from the Islamic State.
