A 1972 Japanese film directed by Kinji Fukasaku. The film was selected as the Japanese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 45th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.It was also one of the films selected for a Los Angeles tribute to Fukasaku, after he died. In 'Under the Flag of the Rising Sun' one woman's search to find the truth about her husband's death in World War II. Tetsurô Tanba,Sachiko Hidari,Isao Natsuyagi and Sanae Nakahara are the stars of this dramatic and mistery story.
