The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Nicolas Cage plays himself, albeit in a broke version who hopes to solve his financial problems with a boom in his next job. Neil Patrick Harris' character convinces him to attend the birthday of Javi (Pedro Pascal), a drug dealer who is his biggest fan. By attending his house in southern Spain, which is filled with merchandising from his films (including life-size figures of his characters), he would collect a million dollars, more than enough to pay off his 600,000 dollars debt to the hotel where he has been staying for months. Although he is not initially enthusiastic about the idea, he finally gives in. What at first seemed like a simple plan becomes complicated when the CIA recruits him to arrest Javi. He will have to hide as best he can if he wants to accomplish his mission and live to tell the tale. Throughout his adventure, Cage will have to face himself and the many references to his previous films that will cross his path.

It is directed by Tom Gormican, known for 'My Friends' Girlfriends' and the 'Ghosted' series. In addition to Cage, Harris and Pascal, the cast includes Tiffany Haddish, Sharon Horgan, Ike Barinholtz, Eli Jane, Alessandra Mastronardi, Joanna Bobin and Jacob Scipio. It is produced by Lionsgate and Saturn Films.
