Touching Infinity

'Touching the Infinite' shows the true story of three families facing near death. The documentary presents with great delicacy his last weeks of agony, teaching us a journey full of feelings, both of fear and sadness and of love, hope and gratitude. A beautiful film about the power to say goodbye. In charge of the direction is Griet Teck (creator of 'Feel my love'), who has granted several statements about the film: 'We kept death in a small room and wanted to open that door in my film. (...) Society sees death as a decline. We prefer not to talk about it, we have never learned to do that (...) Three quarters of the population of Flanders dies in hospitals or residential care centres (...). Therefore, as a spectator, you can be a privileged witness to something very special, what it means to be human. I was afraid to release the film now. But I think it just shows how important it is that people don't die alone, how important it is to say goodbye consciously in that final phase. (...) The medical world is incredibly advanced, but there is also something like therapeutic persistence: (...). The red thread in the film is the help of nurses, doctors, palliative care psychologists. They provide medical support, but also help with internal pain".
