Plot
The story revolves around Amelie, a dreamy girl of 20 who returns to Japan, where he spent part of his childhood. There tutoring French for a living and this is how he meets Rinri, his first and only student, a young Japanese man with whom will initiate a romance. Among surprises, happy moments and pitfalls in the middle of a poetic and fun culture shock, Amelie discover a side of Japan that had never known before. Codes, often impenetrable for Westerners, Japanese society becomes a hackneyed source of misunderstanding and misconceptions, causing embarrassing and funny situations.
The film is based on the novel by the Belgian writer Amélie Nothomb, 'Neither Eve nor Adam', published in 2007. The author, who has published more than twenty novels throughout his life, speaks Japanese and during years worked as an interpreter in the city of Tokyo.
