The Zoya Factor

Zoya Solanki (Sonam Kapoor, 'Sanju', 'Veere Di Wedding'), a copywriter for an advertising agency, is going through rough patches in her personal and professional lives alike. Her wealthy dentist boyfriend (Rishi Hapawat, 'Gabru: Hip Hop Ke Shehzaade') has dumped her after spending their whole relationship only able to see her flaws and her boss (Koel Purie, 'Rock On!', 'The Great Indian Butterfly') is eternally unimpressed with her work. It is this very boss that forces Zoya to leave her collaboration with her favourite brand to travel to Sri Lanka, where she is in charge of shooting an advert with the Indian cricket team. Zoya immediately clashes with the team's captain, Nikhil Khoda (Dulquer Salmaan, 'Second Show', 'Charlie'), who believes that hard work always prevails and resents Zoya for distracting the team from the game with the advert. However, this soon changes when the team discovers that Zoya was born on the same day that India won its first World Cup. This cosmic coincidence leads the team to believe that Zoya is their lucky charm, and that her very presence will grant them the ability to win matches. Overwhelmed by public attention and by her growing attraction to Nikhil, Zoya must decide what (and who) she truly cares about in life.
