The Year of Living Dangerously

Guy Hamilton (Mel Gibson) is a journalist for the Australian Broadcasting Service, who goes on his first foreign work. Guy will move to Indonesia, where he covers the situation of the country under president Sukarno's administration. In an unstable and complex political environment, Guy finds it difficult to develop his work correctly, but in the end he will meet Billy Kwan, a Chinese-Australian photojournalist, who supports Sukarno and will give him a free pass to know interesting political stories. In the middle of all this, Guy meets Jill Bryant, a worker at the British Embassy, and both of them will fall in love. Our journalist will have to face different moral decisions while the characters see how Indonesia suffers its own political crisis.
