Djata (Lorenzo Allchurch) is only twelve years old boy and he is growing up in a brutal dictatorship. When the Government imprisons his father Peter and acuse him and his mother Hannah as labeled traitors, the boy will try all than he can do untill he sees his father again. 'The White King' is a dystopian drama based in the awarded novel of Norwegian autor György Dragomán. The second novel of the writer was translated in 28 languages.

The same autor expressed his opinion about the adaptation. As he explains, the two filmmakers Alex Helfrecht and Jörg Tittel perfectly understand the nature of the visual reality that he created in the book. The cast is composed by Agyness Dean, Jonathan Pryce, Ross Partridge, Fiona Shaw, Greta Scacchi and already mentioned Lorenzo Allchurch.
