'The Water' presents us with the story of a summer in a small town in the southeast of Spain. A storm is approaching that could again overflow the river that runs through the town. Here there is an old superstition and popular belief that says that some of the local women will disappear with each new flood, they are predestined to disappear with these storms because they have "the water inside". The protagonist Ana (Luna Pamies) lives with her mother (Bárbara Lennie) and her grandmother (Nieve de Medina) in a house that is viewed with suspicion by the rest of the inhabitants of the small town. At the arrival of this storm that will precede the rain, Ana will meet José (Alberto Olmo) while she fights to throw away the ghosts that persecute her.
