The Tsugua Diaries

Like everyone, the lives of Crista, Carloto and João were irremediably affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The coronavirus made them seclude themselves in a country house from which the three have created an airy greenhouse for butterflies in the garden of their home. The three of them must take care of the greenhouse and share home tuinas day after day... but they are not the only ones. Crista Alfaiate, Carloto Cotta and João Monteiro are the actors who give life to the characters of the same name. The film is directed by the Portuguese Maureen Fazendeiro, Miguel Gomes, who also co-write the script with Mariana Ricardo. For his part, Mário Castanheira is the director of photography. The film is produced by O Som e a Fúria and Uma Pedra no Sapato, while here in Spain it will be distributed by Vitrine Films. 'Diarios de Otsoga' has been successful on an international level as it won the award for best director at the Mar de Plata Festival while at the Seville Festival it won the award in the official section. Variety says of her that "'Diários de Otsoga' is mostly about herself: not so much for the love of art, but for the sheer pleasure of art (...) There are many contrasting facets to the elegant and positively embellished formalism of the movie".
